Day in honor of the San Marco Satellite Project

On April 10, 2018, at the Scuola di Ingegneria Aerospaziale of Sapienza University of Rome (School of Aerospace Engineering, Italy), it is being celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the equatorial launch of San Marco Satellite on 25/03/1988, together with the Presentation of the book “I Ragazzi del San Marco”, written by Mattia Simeoni

Dr. Giorgio Di Bernardo presents the above-mentioned book, also commemorating Professor Luigi Broglio, the great pioneer of the Italian astronautics and father of San Marco Programme, Lieutenant General and Air Force officer, as well as Dean of the School of Aerospace Engineering from 1952 to 1987.

Professor Filippo Graziani – Dean of the School from 2004 to 2010, then GAUSS President – has written the Preface, an engaging incipit on the strong motivation for the job of the San Marco Programme’s personnel, quoting the real carachters’ memories and remembering stories of the first Italian-built satellite ever launched. Furthermore, GAUSS supported the publication of the book.
